Happy Little Stampers January 2016 CAS Challenge

Good evening, crafters

The beginning of the month marks the start of lots of challenges over at Happy Little Stampers, and today there is a new CAS challenge just starting.  We have a new technique challenge for you which is...

Happy Little Stampers are sponsoring this challenge and one lucky winner will receive a stamp set!

If you are unfamiliar with the smooshing technique there are lots of video tutorial links over at the challenge blog to give you some ideas and inspiration.

We also have a Guest Designer joining us this month who is Joyce from Cards by the Sea.  So, if you can spare a few moments, please drop by and say hi and give her some love :)

Here's my smooshed card...

On a panel of watercolour cardstock I stamped and heat embossed the butterfly using white embossing powder.  I sprinkled some Brusho crystals in two colours onto a craft mat, spritzed with water and then smooshed my card panel onto it, picking up the colour.  On another piece I smooshed two shades of green Brushos then when dry die cut the leaf flourish.  I stamped the sentiment in black, adhered the leaf flourish, trimming the excess from the edge, and mounted onto a card base using 3D foam.

Materials used:

  • Stamps: Happy Little Stampers - Butterfly Birthday
  • Ink: VersaMark; Versafine - Onyx Black; Brushos - Ultra Marine, Turquoise, Emerald Green and Leaf Green
  • Embossing Powder: Wow! - Opaque Bright White
  • Die: MFT Die-namics - Leaf-filled Flourish

We would love for you to have a play and join in the challenge which will run until the end of January.  Smooshing is great fun and you're guaranteed to get a unique card every time.

Thanks so much for popping by today and there is plenty more inspiration over at HLS where my teamies are also sharing their lovely projects with you.
